Activator CRF is a Community Residential Facility located in the central interior community of Prince George, BC. Residents of Activators receive a wide variety of services and supports by our dedicated staff. The PG Activator Society promotes an environment of mutual respect, kindness and tolerance between residents and staff alike. The community of Prince George offers great opportunities for employment and recreation. Our facility is located downtown and is within walking distance of several gyms and fitness facilities, the public library, shopping centers, restaurants and cafes, public transit, medical facilities, social service providers, government offices, the Native Friendship Centre and other Indigenous focused services.
What Services We Offer
Number of Beds Activator CRF has 21 beds reserved for clients under the supervision of Correction Service Canada (CSC); 4 beds reserved for clients under the supervision BC Forensic Psychiatric Services Commission; and 4 community support beds reserved for clients who have completed their residency at our facility but require a limited duration of additional housing support.
Rooms All rooms at Activator CRF come equipped with the necessary furniture and bedding required for comfort. Each room has an individual lock and all residents are provided with keys to lock their rooms. Activators provides free high-speed internet to all residents.
Food Activator CRF has an chef that prepares fantastic multi-option meals each day. On most days, breakfast is serve-yourself with a wide variety of options - we also serve snacks in the evening. If a resident is working, 'saved meals' and bagged lunches are available. We are very proud of our food services and feel that the meals we provide are second to none!
In-House Amenities Residents are able to make and receive free local telephone calls on the Activator House phone. Free use of on-site washer and dryer is provided in addition to laundry soap and fabric softener. The lounge area offers residents a refrigerator, microwave, coffee station, big screen TV, cable, and comfortable couches. The facility has two large bathrooms each with two toilets, two urinals and two showers.
Check-Ins and Curfew All residents must sign-out and sign-in when leaving and/or returning to the house. During the day, residents must report back to the facility at 1200 hrs and 1700 hrs for check-ins (unless you are working during check-in hours, in which case you may be allowed to miss check-ins with the support of your PO). All residents must return to the facility at 2359 hrs for curfew (unless On Pass).
Out-of-Residence Pass System Passes are permitted but require the approval of the resident`s Community Parole Officer and Activators staff.
Accessibility Activator CRF provides a wheelchair ramp at the front of our entrance, but the majority of the facility is not wheelchair accessible. There are several rooms on the main floor that are wheelchair friendly and one washroom that is accessible by wheelchair or physically challenged residents.
Security Our facility is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The main facility door is locked during the night after curfew. Video surveillance equipment also ensures the safety of common areas, residents and staff. All residents have the option to lock their individual rooms at any time.
Visitors Visitors are allowed on site and within the residence but only in specific areas and at permitted times of the day. First time and/or infrequent visitors must present photo identification when checking into the facility.
Smoking Smoking is permitted outside of the facility, in accordance with Work Safe BC regulations. Activator CRF has a comfortable outdoor Gazebo (pictured above) where smoking is permitted.

Mental Health Counselling
Activators provides a mental health counsellor that works out of our boardroom on Tuesday. Rob Z has decades of experience working with men in areas of substance use, trauma, grief and loss, relationships, and many others. Residents are responsible for signing up for their one-on-one sessions through our front desk, and this service is at no cost to the residents.
